How to Care for your Matt Surface Tiles

You have chosen matt surface tiles for your home – what’s next? Ceramic and porcelain tiles are renowned for their durability and low maintenance. With minimal effort, you can preserve their beauty and functionality for many years, even decades.

Here’s a brief guide on daily care for your matt surface tiles:

1

Clean up any loose dirt, sand, or other foreign materials by sweeping or vacuuming them.

2

If there are stubborn contaminants on the tile surface, start by identifying them, as various types may need specific cleaning techniques.

3

Make sure your detergent is free of hydrofluoric acid, household bleaches, or mosaic cleaners to prevent any damage to the tile surface.

4

Follow the detergent manufacturer’s instructions and recommended usage carefully.

5

Begin by testing the detergent on a small area to check if it affects the tiles or wears away the grout.

6

When cleaning a large area, consider breaking it down into smaller sections for a more manageable cleaning process.

7

If step 5 goes smoothly, move on to cleaning the floor using a mop or a scrubbing machine. Afterwards, rinse the floor with fresh water and dry it using a dry or wrung-out mop.

8

Replace the soiled cleaning solution when necessary and then proceed with repeating step 7.

9

Make sure to eliminate all detergent residue thoroughly to prevent it from forming a layer that can trap dirt.

10

In cases of stubborn contaminants, scrubbing with a nylon pad or bristle brush might be required.
